Although it has been nearly a YEAR since my posting with images from a day hike at Cougar Mountain, the video below was “shot” the very same trip (on my mkII). The reason I have been procrastinating is that I have not had any video editing software until yesterday. Although I own the Adobe Creative Suite 3 Design Suite, there are no apps for editing video with is in the package. So currently I am running a thirty day trail of Adobe Premiere Pro CS4. Yes, the music is cheesy. Yes, the shots are shaky. Yes, the transitions are lacking. Yes, this is my first video edit. But who cares! You have to start someplace, and it seems that this is my starting line.
In addition to my homo sapiens relatives, I have a few furry family members. Below are a few images of my in-laws and cousin, so to speak. My in-laws are the large white teddy bear is Labradoodle named Lizzy, the little gray fellow is a Silky Poo named Jessie and the long haired white cat in her back is Daisy. The long haired white cat by default is my cousin, Foster B Chubbins Esquire.

Yes, it is well over a month into the new year, but since this if my first post in 2010 it seems an appropriate title. The new year has brought new opportunities my way in the form of a shared studio space with a few friends. It isn’t huge, but it more than serves its purpose. Below are four images of my good friend Nathaniel Willson that I shot a few weeks back in the new space. The “shoot” was therapeutic in helping me get a feel for using strobes again (although you will see that one of the below images is a natural daylight shot).
So much of what I shot last year was for others, i.e. shooting/2nd shooting at 25 or 27 weddings. My goal this year is to shoot more for myself and my business, and this space is one step towards that.

As part of our two year running tradition (with many years to come), Asha and I took the time to have some fun taking photos for our holiday card. Thanks to my trusty tripod and MkII, we were able to capture a few fun and partially random moments (the cones on our heads was totally Asha’s idea!). Our location was in Bothell, down by the amphitheater back in mid October. Also, take a peek at the whit and wisdom of my good friend Horace Glump at his website, featuring photos from yours truly at the Glumpabilia Store which can also be found in the right sidebar.

It has been a month since the the last posting, which is a sure sign that I have not been shooting enough for myself! On Monday my friend Prestin and I decided to just walk around and shoot some photos. To often, I get stuck in a rut shooting what makes me money or only what I schedule and plan out. Monday involved neither of these things. These four photos represent a 31 minute chunk of the time we spent walking around Capital Hill and just shooting whatever, which I haven’t done for a very long time. I have a bit of a fascination with doors.
