It has been a month since the the last posting, which is a sure sign that I have not been shooting enough for myself! On Monday my friend Prestin and I decided to just walk around and shoot some photos. To often, I get stuck in a rut shooting what makes me money or only what I schedule and plan out. Monday involved neither of these things. These four photos represent a 31 minute chunk of the time we spent walking around Capital Hill and just shooting whatever, which I haven’t done for a very long time. I have a bit of a fascination with doors.

Asha and I met up with our newly wed friends Angela and Evan to hit up the Puyallup Fair the last day it was running. This was the first time Asha and I had been to a fair of this size, and we were quite surprised, as it was substantially larger than the Kootenai County Fair we grew up with in Coeur d’ Alene Idaho. Below are a few details from our highly enjoyable far experience.

On June 18th of this year, my mother had a surgical procedure preformed on her brain to remove a slow bleed aneurysm from her right frontal lobe. There is a book of stories to be told that lead up to the 18th, but I feel it is enough to say that she is now quite healthy and once again enjoying life. After she was released from the hospital, it was a few days before she was ready to travel from Seattle back to Coeur d’ Alene. On the drive back I was pulled over for speeding but was not issued a ticket by the very kind WSP Officer. The next day I drove back to Seattle, but not before I took a few photos along the way. Below are four images that have no relation to each other except for the fact that they were taken in a four hour period. The image directly below is posted with her permission.

A few weeks back, my good friends Simon and Nancy paid us a visit. Being the good “Seattlites” that my wife and I are, we did our best to give them both the most authentic experience possible. This obviously included a trip to Pike Place Market, dinner at Bin on the Lake (formally the Beach Cafe in Kirkland), a visit to the Olympic Sculpture Park and rock climbing at the REI wall.

Although this festive event happened at the begining of this month, life has been a bit crazy of late. Nevertheless, its always better late then never. To celebrate the day of my good friend Nathaniel’s birth, Asha, Nathaniel and I dined at the Cactus on Alki Beach. There was a 45 min. wait for a “window” seat, but it was more than worth it to dine in the setting sun! Below are a few images from the dinner and after dinner activities taken by myself, Nathaniel and Asha.
